Faith @ Dell EMC

~~~ Guest Post by Kelly M ~~~
One of the unique aspects of the Dell-EMC combination was the priority placed on making sure our culture and values were aligned. A survey of both companies indicated that we were very similar, actually identical, in the top 5 areas that team members viewed as important to them. One of those areas is “Winning Together." We perform better, are smarter, and have more fun working as a team than as individuals. Dell EMC fosters this by supporting Employee Resource Groups (ERG). These are shared focus groups that have similar structure and governance around the world. They serve as an integral part of our Diversity and Inclusion strategy. There are 14 ERG’s today, each sponsored by a member of the Dell EMC Executive Leadership Team. One of those groups is called Faith. Our charter states:
The vision of Faith is to serve as a network and resource group to the faith-honoring employee community at Dell EMC. Our commitment is to be inclusive of all employees, and align to the Dell EMC Core Values while making a positive impact in the workplace and our communities. Faith will promote employee engagement in the areas of professional development and community outreach.
The Faith leadership team strives to provide an environment that allows people of all faiths to participate in meaningful ways without exclusionary practices or divisions. We support everyone’s desire to seek and share their beliefs. There are several programs that the Faith group has created to cultivate our mission.
  • Life Lessons Over Lunch (LLOL): A bi-weekly video series to share content related to personal growth and relationships in the workplace. The video series is typically broken down into 4 segments with local study groups meeting on the off week to discuss. This past year we viewed “Bad Blood,” a lesson on forgiveness, and we are currently studying “Killin' It,” a lesson on the negative impacts of selfish pride. We invite participants to bring their lunch and join together in a conference room for the videos.
  • Global Prayer: Another very unique and inspirational program is a Global weekly Prayer meeting. We invite team members around the globe to join a conference line and submit requests for prayer. We are blessed to have a strong set of prayer warriors that lift up and touch the hearts of those in need.
As with all ERG’s, the Faith group has a large presence in the community. We provide our time and talents to worthy causes and contribute donations to local food banks and charities.
Operation Warm Coat (North Carolina Chapter)
Dell EMC Employee Resource Groups are a tremendous opportunity for team members to belong to a like-minded set of individuals and harness this power for creating a Legacy of Good.
